If jazz performed by a string quartet seems a little off whack, then get ready to be hit by a double whammy as the Turtle Island Quartet dazzles multi-genre music fans with “An Evening of Jimi Hendrix.”

The California-based band is slated to perform live at OK MOZART at 8 p.m. June 13 at the Bartlesville Community Center. With more than two decades of musical creativity under their belts, Turtle Island Quartet promises to delight as they fuse a vast array of musical styles and pay homage to legendary singer and songwriter Jimi Hendrix.

“We’re all very excited to perform at OK MOZART this year,” said Mark Summer, Turtle Island Quartet co-founder and cello player. “We’ve been to Tulsa and Oklahoma City a couple of times over the past 25 years, but not to Bartlesville, so this is a new adventure that we’re looking forward to.”
